The Infrared Control Pad, known as the Cordless Pad (コードレスパッドセット) in Japan, is a special type of Sega Saturn control pad, which rather than rely on leads communicates with a Sega Saturn through infrared light (much like most television remotes). The Infrared Control Pad receiver (HSS-0125) requires both of the Sega Saturn’s control ports. 

I personally think these late model Japanese controllers are some of the best made. They sit really well in your hand, the D-Pad responds excellent with fighting games such as Street Fighter II and are simply a fantastic controller for your Saturn. A huge improvement over the model 1 controllers, so maybe pick up one of these as an upgrade.

Note: Each controller comes with one infrared receiver, however you may use a second controller with the same receiver.
